- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature for frosting)
- 1 ¼ – 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons Bourbon Caramel Sauce
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 ½ ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 3 tablespoons butter (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted, plus more if needed)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a saucepan, bring apple cider to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until it reduces to about 1/4 cup. Let cool.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and spices.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs; mix well. Stir in reduced apple cider and apple butter/applesauce.
- Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
- Drop mounds of dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing them three inches apart. Bake for 11-13 minutes until lightly golden.
