  • 27 oz boneless skinless chicken breast (or thighs)
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix chicken with soy sauce, egg white, cornstarch, salt, flour, and baking powder until coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together orange juice, zest, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, chili flakes, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch.
  5. In the same wok (drain excess oil), heat the sauce mixture until thickened; add fried chicken and toss to coat.
  6. Serve hot over rice or with stir-fried vegetables.
