- 1–1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1–1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.
- In one bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until fluffy before adding eggs.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture alternately with milk.
- Mix chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon; layer half the batter in the pan followed by half the apples, then repeat.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before glazing.
