  • 1 ½ lbs ground lamb (or beef)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • ¾ cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes (prepared with butter and milk)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat and sauté onions and carrots until softened (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add ground lamb or beef and dried thyme; cook until browned (7-10 minutes).
  4. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer on low for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  5. Mash boiled potatoes with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  6. Layer the meat mixture in a baking dish, then top generously with mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
