Description

Crispy Chilli Beef is a tantalizing dish that combines tender, juicy beef with a spicy and savory sauce, all while delivering an irresistible crunch. This quick and easy recipe involves marinating flank steak, coating it in cornstarch, and frying until golden brown. Tossed in a delicious mixture of soy sauce, brown sugar, and fresh chilies, this dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests. Serve it over fluffy rice or alongside a refreshing salad to enjoy the delightful contrast of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef flank steak
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 fresh red chilies (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and pat dry.
  2. Toss the beef strips in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Fry the beef in batches for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In another pan, sauté garlic and chilies briefly, then add soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar; mix until sugar dissolves.
  6. Add the fried beef to the sauce and toss to coat well before serving.

Notes

– For extra crunch, double-coat the beef by dipping it in egg wash after cornstarch.

– Adjust chili quantity based on your spice preference.
