Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract, red food coloring, white vinegar, and cocoa powder until combined. Finally, fold in flour and salt.
  3. Reserve 1/4 cup of the brownie batter. Pour the remaining batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in 1 egg and vanilla extract until creamy.
  5. Spread the cheesecake layer over the brownie base and drop spoonfuls of reserved batter on top. Use a toothpick to create swirls.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set in the center. Cool completely before chilling for two hours.
  7. Slice into squares and serve.
