Ingredients
- 1 deep dish pie shell (9-inch)
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 4 oz Baker's German Chocolate (chopped)
- 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans (divided)
- 1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and fit the pie crust into a deep dish pie plate.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter and German chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in evaporated milk.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture while whisking.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped pecans and half of the coconut at the bottom of the pie shell. Pour the chocolate mixture on top and then add remaining pecans and coconut.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggles when shaken.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
