  • ¼ c soy sauce
  • 3 T brown sugar
  • 2 T honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated or minced)
  • 2 T corn starch
  • 1 T orange zest
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 c broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small onion (small diced)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • salt and pepper to taste (as desired)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the teriyaki sauce by mixing soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, ginger, orange zest, and half of the water in a bowl. In another bowl, combine cornstarch with the remaining water until smooth and add to the sauce mixture.
  2. In a wok or large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Then incorporate broccoli florets and shredded carrots; stir-fry for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the mixture and simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
