  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 medium carrots
  • 2 medium zucchinis
  • 45 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • Fried rice for serving
  • Store-bought Yum Yum sauce

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: Combine sirloin, mirin, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt in a bowl. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Sauté vegetables: Heat butter and sesame oil in a wok over medium heat. Add carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms; cook until tender (10–15 minutes). Season with garlic powder.
  3. Cook steak: In the same pan, heat remaining butter and sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add marinated steak and cook until seared (3–4 minutes). Drizzle with teriyaki sauce.
  4. Assemble bowls: Divide steak and veggies into bowls with fried rice. Top each bowl with Yum Yum sauce.
