Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs oranges (peeled)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 cinnamon sticks (optional spices: star anise & cloves)

Instructions

  1. Peel the oranges, removing as much white pith as possible.
  2. Puree the peeled oranges using an immersion blender until smooth.
  3. Pour the orange puree into a saucepan and add sugar and spices.
  4. Simmer over medium heat for 20-30 minutes until thickened. Test consistency by placing a small amount on a cold plate; it should hold its shape.
  5. Pour the hot orange jam into sterilized canning jars. Process in a water bath canner for 10 minutes if not consuming immediately.
