  • 3/4 cup patriotic sprinkles
  • For frosting: 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • More sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together in a stand mixer until fluffy. Add egg whites gradually.
  4. Mix in milk and vanilla until smooth; then alternate adding flour mixture and sour cream until well combined.
  5. Stir in patriotic sprinkles gently.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared dish and bake for 35-42 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Once cooled, prepare the frosting by whipping softened butter and gradually adding powdered sugar, salt, milk, and vanilla until fluffy.
