- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp chili flakes

- 1 bay leaf
- 3 cups puréed tomatoes

Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add shallots, garlic, and celery; cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in diced pumpkin; cook for another 5 minutes, then add fennel and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
