  • 2 packs udon noodles
  • 200 g fresh beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • Chinese cabbage (or leafy greens of choice)
  • Sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch slurry in a mixing bowl. Coat the sliced beef and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Boil water in a pot and cook the udon noodles for 1-2 minutes until slightly loosened. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix any leftover marinade with dark soy sauce, black pepper, water, and potato starch to create the black pepper sauce.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over medium heat; stir-fry minced garlic and onions until soft. Add marinated beef and cook until browned.
  5. Pour in the prepared black pepper sauce; stir until thickened. Add cooked udon noodles and chopped Chinese cabbage; toss gently to combine.
