- 4–5 black peppercorns
- 3 whole cloves
- 3 green cardamom pods (slightly crushed)

- 1 star anise (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Instructions
- In a small pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the black peppercorns, cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the smoky black tea to the pot and steep for 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the milk and brown sugar, allowing it to simmer on low heat for another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain into mugs before serving.
