  • 1 medium cauliflower (cut into florets)
  • 1/3 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/31/4 cup water
  • 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 12 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (finely minced)
  • 45 cloves fresh garlic (finely minced)
  • 23 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening sauce)
  • 1/4 cup water (for thickening sauce)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Spring onions (for garnish)
  • Sliced chillis (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse and dry cauliflower florets.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, cornstarch, oil, and optional garlic powder; gradually add water to create a smooth batter.
  3. Coat each cauliflower floret in the batter and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. While baking, prepare the sauce by combining sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, sriracha, ginger, and garlic in a saucepan over medium heat. Thicken with cornstarch mixed with water.
  6. Toss baked cauliflower in the sticky sauce; garnish with sesame seeds and sliced spring onions before serving.
