Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground lean turkey
- 2 cups diced apples
- 2 cups sliced sweet potatoes
- 2 cups sliced carrots
- 3 cups crushed tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp salt (divided)
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp rubbed sage (divided)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- a sprinkle nutmeg
- 1–2 cans kidney beans
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced apples, sweet potatoes, and carrots along with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, sage, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add ground turkey to the pot and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes).
- Stir in tomato paste and chili powder; mix well.
- Add crushed tomatoes and strained tomatoes; stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to low-medium and let simmer for 20-30 minutes. If using kidney beans, add them before serving.
