  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp almond extract (optional)
  • ⅓ cup Christmas jimmies sprinkles
  • 10 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 13 Tbsp salted butter, softened
  • 1¼ cups powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Christmas sprinkles (jimmies, nonpareils, trees, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
  3. In a mixer, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until just blended. Gently fold in sprinkles.
  5. Scoop dough into balls (48–50g each) and place on sheets.
  6. Slightly flatten each ball and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set but tops are soft.
  7. Cool cookies for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  8. For frosting, beat cream cheese and salted butter until smooth; add vanilla and mix.
  9. Gradually add powdered sugar and whip in heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  10. Frost cooled cookies and decorate with additional sprinkles before serving.
